Long before Peter entered the picture, Florence had already captured Sabrina’s heart. At nineteen, during a family trip through Europe, she first wandered the city’s cobblestone streets and instantly fell in love with its timeless beauty. One day, I will get married here. She could never have imagined how that quiet wish would eventually unfold.
Raised in the Philippines before building a life in New York, Sabrina found in Florence the place her heart had always been searching for: a city where beauty, history and destiny seemed to converge at every turn. Years later, thousands of miles away, fate would begin writing the other half of the story.
Sabrina and Peter met in New York through what could only be described as a fortunate coincidence. It was a Friday evening, and neither had planned to go out. Sabrina intended to stay home until her sister persuaded her to join her, while across the city, Peter was having much the same conversation with his friends, who were equally determined to convince him to come along. Neither knew that a decision made almost casually that evening would eventually lead them back to the city Sabrina had dreamed of marrying in since she was nineteen.
Their wedding unfolded over two unforgettable days, bringing together family and friends who traveled from New York, the Philippines, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London and Australia. The celebration was designed by the Italian agency Bianco Bouquet, with every setting reflecting the timeless elegance and grandeur of Florence.
The festivities began with a welcome dinner at Golden View Osteria, one of Florence’s most iconic restaurants, overlooking the Ponte Vecchio and the Arno River. The following afternoon, Sabrina and Peter exchanged vows at Chiesa di Ognissanti, a historic church dating back more than seven centuries, where majestic Renaissance frescoes and gilded interiors provided a breathtaking backdrop for the ceremony.
As dusk descended over Florence, the celebration continued at the magnificent Villa Cora Hotel. Inside Florence’s most beautiful ballroom, the Salone degli Specchi, crystal candelabras illuminated candlelit tables adorned with white roses, while gilded mirrors, glittering chandeliers and intricate frescoes created an atmosphere of timeless Florentine grandeur. Dinner unfolded with heartfelt speeches, live music, singing and dancing, before the newlyweds cut their cake beneath the Tuscan sky. Then, as night settled over the historic gardens, a spectacular fireworks display illuminated the estate in a cascade of light, bathing the celebration in a golden glow.
Yet the evening was far from over. Guests made their way to Villa Cora’s iconic Pasha Room, where the mood shifted from timeless elegance to an energetic late-night celebration. Cocktails flowed freely throughout the reception and well into the night, while live music kept the dance floor alive and late-night bites kept guests fueled as laughter echoed through the room. Surrounded by family and friends, the newlyweds danced and celebrated into the early hours, bringing their extraordinary wedding weekend to a joyful close.
In many ways, their wedding was about far more than a destination celebration. For Sabrina, it was the fulfillment of a dream she had carried since she was nineteen, when she first fell in love with Florence and imagined getting married there one day. It was the fulfillment of a promise made beside the Arno River finally coming true; the remarkable coincidence that brought two people together in New York on a night when they had both nearly stayed home; and, ultimately, a reminder that sometimes the places that capture our hearts long before we understand why are quietly waiting to become part of our story.
Some love stories begin with a single moment. Others begin with a place, quietly waiting for fate to bring the right two people together.
