Sulla banconota da 100 euro potrebbe comparire Leonardo Da Vinci oppure una avocetta, ossia l’unica specie europea di uccello col becco incurvato all’insù nel tratto finale. La Banca centrale europea oggi ha svelato i bozzetti finalisti del concorso avviato mesi fa per le nuove banconote euro: si tratta di 10 serie di disegni ognuno dei quali contiene potenziali versioni fronte e retro dei sei tagli cartacei in circolazione (da 5 a 200 euro). Complessivamente sono stati, quindi, resi noti 120 disegni, ma due sono i macro temi precedente selezionati a cui i creativi europei, che hanno risposto alla chiamata della Bce, si sono dovuti attenere, ossia “Cultura europea: luoghi di cultura e condivisione” e “Fiumi e uccelli: resilienza nella diversità”.

La decisione finale sulle nuove banconote Euro potrebbe essere presa dal Consiglio direttivo della Bce «intorno alla fine dell’anno», ma a determinarla sarà «una combinazione di contributi, tra cui le conclusioni della giuria del concorso, una valutazione tecnica e i risultati dei due sondaggi». Si perché la Bce ha deciso di avviare un sondaggio online, disponibile fino al 21 settembre, con cui i cittadini potranno esprimere la propria opinione. Parallelamente una società di ricerca indipendente presso un campione rappresentativo di cittadini dell’area dell’euro.
In ogni caso, anche se la decisione sarà presa entro la fine dell’anno, la serie di disegni «selezionata sarà poi ulteriormente sviluppata e testata prima di entrare in produzione», mentre «l’immissione in circolazione delle nuove banconote è prevista negli anni successivi», con «le precedenti serie di banconote in euro che comunque manterranno il proprio valore e continueranno a circolare insieme alle nuove».
Entrando nel merito, la prima sezione “Cultura europea: luoghi di cultura e condivisione” è un omaggio ai giganti del vecchio continente: i 5 euro verrebbero, quindi, assegnati a Maria Callas, che sul retro avrebbe artisti di strada impegnati a intrattenere passanti; i 10 euro sarebbero dedicati a Ludwig van Beethoven, che andrebbe in coppia con un festival musicale con un coro di bambini e giovani adulti; i 20 euro omaggerebbero Marie Curie, mentre sul retro ci sarebbe un contesto scolastico o universitario con una insegnante e giovani allievi; i 50 euro andrebbero a Miguel de Cervantes, che sul retro avrebbe una biblioteca con adulti che leggono libri e un bimbo e una bimba cercano di prendere un libro da uno scaffale; i 100 euro sarebbero appannaggio di Leonardo da Vinci, che sul retro avrebbe adulti e bambini intenti ad ammirare esempi di arte urbana, arte contemporanea ecc…; infine i 200 euro celebrerebbero Bertha von Suttner, prima donna a ricevere il Nobel per la pace, che sul retro avrebbe un piazzale alberato come luogo di incontro, con adulti e bambini che parlano, passeggiano, giocano.
“Fiumi e uccelli: resilienza nella diversità”, invece, è l’altro macro tema precedente scelto e dedicato agli «ecosistemi naturali europei, a riprova dell’importanza della natura e della tutela dell’ambiente», col retro delle sei banconote da 5 a 200 euro che verrebbe invece riservato alle sedi delle istituzioni europee. I 5 euro, quindi, sarebbero dedicati al picchio muraiolo con una sorgente montana, mentre sul retro ci sarebbe il Parlamento europeo; i 10 euro ritrarrebbero un esemplare di martin pescatore in prossimità di una cascata e dietro la sede della Commissione europea; i 10 euro una colonia di gruccioni e la Bce; i 50 euro una cicogna bianca e il palazzo della Corte di giustizia dell’Ue; i 100 euro l’avocetta con la sede del Consiglio dell’Unione europea e del Consiglio europeo; infine i 200 euro sarebbero dedicati alla sula bassana e alla Corte dei conti europea.
